There was no copy available in the context menu. but when I right clicked the sketch to copy/paste it. Well - one issue - in that my reference images weren't taken at 90degree angles and such - so I needed to take new reference images and start from scratch. Once I had all the sketches the way I wanted them - I created a loft using them. Then I used the reference images to reshape each sketch to match the cross section contour of the heel. Then I copied and pasted that sketch upward along the column of the heel at regular intervals. I used canvases as references, and created a sketch of the bottom of the shoe. The other day - I created a model of the heel from a high heel shoe. I don't think I've explained my problem very well. If you don't know the Command / Control +C or V key system, then use those Menus.įirstly, thank you very much for your help. I just want to sketch some shapes that I can then use to create a loft. Move the pasted sketch articles to where you want them, when Done press OK in the Dialogue that came with it. You will see the sketch article/s and the Move triad, (if in the same sketch will be on top of the originals at this stage) With nothing selected in the window, Right Click, find Paste in that Menu, Click Paste. (Your selection has been copied to memory - but nothing happens on screen)Įdit the Sketch you want to Paste into, (can be the same sketch you were in, works in any sketch being Edited). Now Click in the window to deselect the blue bits, should go back to normal. Right Click, and find the word Copy in that Menu. Window select the sketch article/s you want to copy, I’ve not mentioned the Collada import as I have no idea what Collada is really used for.Hide Everything else in the model, (Lightbulbs off) you only want Fusion to select what you can see or part of it.

If anyone can enlighten me, I’d really appreciate it! UI UpdateĪ UI update is a scary thing for me! Does it mean that my tutorial that are all done in v5 and 6 will need updating? I have no idea at this stage. I’ve seen rendering to layers before in Strata but I don’t think this is what Martin is talking about. I’m not saying they don’t exist but it’s not something that I’ve used and I struggle to even understand how it would work. I’ve not seen layers in any 3D application before. Probably the most intriguing feature on the list. It’s an absolute must if you’re doing any organic modelling. The softer selection has less influence but whatever you do (move, scale) still has an impact. If you’ve never used it, it’s quite hard to explain but I’ll try anyway:- Soft selection allows you to select part of a model and then take an additional softer selection of it’s surrounding points. I first encountered them in Silo and what a great feature it is. Soft selections is something I’ve personally requested.

Initially I was just thinking about things like TV screens, but actually it could go way further than this. The possibilities here seem pretty endless. I can see a huge benefit here though and it’s something I’ve seen requested in the forum a good few times over the years. I think this is because I largely produce still images with Cheetah3D.

Personally I’ve never really needed movie textures. I can actually see this changing the way I model completely. It’s very hard to move on and continue modelling after you’ve used a boolean at present. Booleans have never been particularly useful in Cheetah3D as the meshes that you end up with are quite messy. Could we finally see the much requested render preview? NGon Booleans My knowledge of rendering isn’t the best and I’m not sure what to expect here. There’s a few in there that I’m pretty excited about, and I must confess I do know of some other features that are planned too but I’m sworn to secrecy on them! New Renderer Whilst there’s no release date yet, the new feature list does sound impressive… Cheetah3D creator Martin Wengenmayer appeared on the Cheetah3D forum recently and listed some of the features that we can expect to see in the upcoming Cheetah3D Version 7.
